About
Lana Fleming is a contemporary oil painter who connects her love of fantasy and the macabre with the natural world. Her journey into the art world began in Manhattan Beach, California, where she learned oil painting techniques through a scholarship to study with a renowned local artist.
Lana's art has been featured in galleries and art shows in Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., and New York City, where she won first runner-up in the New York Independent Film Festival (Fine Arts Division)
Her work was showcased at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley in Winchester, Virginia, and most recently at the Caelum Gallery in Chelsea, NYC.
In addition to her gallery exhibitions and art shows, her art has also found a fitting home in Buffalo Bill's House, the filming location of the iconic movie, The Silence of the Lambs, where her painting, Buffalo Bill, contributes to the chilling atmosphere.
Lana is a nature-focused artist whose work is inspired by her global travels. Her recent journeys have taken her to Texas to capture bat colonies emerging at dusk, and to remote parts of Alaska to photograph ravens in their natural habitat. These encounters inspire artwork that explores the darker, mysterious side of the animal world.
